“To be honest with you, I don’t think journalists should be anywhere around war. You report where our troops are at, you report what’s happening day to day, you make a big deal about it. I think it’s asinine. I like back in World War I and World War II, when you go to the theater and you’d see your troops on the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for them. Now everyone has got an opinion and wants to down our.. down soldiers. Y’know American and (our?) Israeli soldiers. I think media should be abolished from reporting. Y’know. War is hell. And if you’re going to sit there and say, ‘Well, look at this atrocity.’ Well, you don’t know the whole story behind it half the time, so I think the media should have no business in it.”
Joe The Plumber – REPORTING from Israel
This is an amazing quote. People were excited and happy for the soldiers fighting in WWI and WWII? Funny. I thought people were afraid that their sons, husbands, fathers, and brothers would get killed. Government propagandized media? I’m all for it. My favorite part is where he says that people don’t get the whole story, so we should just stop trying to know.
Additionally, Joe Wurzelbacher/ Joe the Plumber has somehow actually become part of the media. He’s in a war zone, reporting on the war, and saying that the media has no business doing what he is doing. He seems to have such strong opinions of his principles and ideas, but he goes completely against them when someone is willing to toss some money in his direction. Where I come from, we call people like that whores.
I continue to thank the vast majority of American voters who put Obama into his position over McCain, because this imbecile would have more than likely been White House Press Secretary or possibly worse. It’s bad enough that his 15 minutes seems to be reaching into the new administration.
