Thomas has a long history of mental illness. In March 2004, he killed his wife and 2 children, ripping their hearts out. Prior to the trial, he removed his right eye. Somehow, the trial judge ruled that he was competent to stand trial.

Thomas has been moved to a psychiatric facility outside of Houston, where he will receive treatment for his mental illness.

Mark, that picture is taken before this story took place. He took out his right eye and ate it, then later took out his left eye and ate that too! He is now blind.
I guess the prison food must be pretty bad to resort to eating one’s own eyes.

We tend to think that a death sentence is “Punishment”. It is not. It is merely getting rid (Permanently) of people that just can’t be in our society because they are a danger to anyone who encounters them. there simply is no place for them.
